Mira pressed her hips up in a slow grind.

Zoey’s arms unfolded quickly and grabbed the back of the couch either side of Mira’s head.
“Are you packing?” she whispered, cheeks flushing a soft pink, her breath coming a little faster than before and Mira had to resist the urge to kiss her senseless.

She yanked the blanket higher, her cheeks burning. “I—yeah. I’m fine. Just… thinking.”
Mira set her book aside completely, giving Rumi her full attention. She reached over—slow enough that Rumi could pull away if she wanted—and tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear. “Don’t think I haven’t caught you staring at us like we’re some math problem for the last twenty minutes, Ru.”
Rumi’s mouth opened. Closed. Then opened again.
The words stuck in her throat like thorns.
I’m scared that I’ll be bad at this. I’m scared that you’ll get tired of having to do everything. I’m scared that because I’ve never done anything like this before, you’re going to be disappointed in me…
She squeezed her eyes shut before blurting out in one breath—
“I don’t know how to make you come—!”
Silence.
Rumi wanted to die.
