Rumi is the worst kind of self sufficient. The kind that's wholy and truly dedicated to never letting her needs get in the way of anybody, even her doting pack who love to be there for her.

As if the universe were apologizing for her unlucky hand in life, it gave her the two people that Zoey always wished for: her pack. Zoey was quick to become friends with Mira and Rumi, her heart singing with joy as they seemed just as interested in her as she was to them. And, as they trained to become the next new hunters, their bond only grew as they aged.
Rumi ended up with her secondary gender first, presenting as an omega during their training when she was seventeen. Although Zoey and Mira were anticipating their leader to be an alpha or beta, the two didn't hesitate to support their friend, cuddling together in Rumi's first nest in her childhood bedroom.
Mira presented next, almost a whole year after Rumi and during their first year of being idols. Zoey and Rumi had to drag Mira into the communal nest to lavish her with affection after she presented as an omega. Rumi's purrs and Zoey's soft words of affection slowly broke down the disappointment from not becoming an alpha she was expected to be her whole life.
And Zoey… Zoey truly was a runt.
