In Parkour Civilization, even death was parkour. It was a level entirely its own, and one most never wanted to reach. An impossible level. An unmoving level.
Worse than prison. Worse than starvation. Worse than failure. Seawatt was stuck in place eternally. And in that way, he was the closest anyone could get to Evbo.
Godhood was lonely. Death was lonelier. They found company in each other, somehow, despite it all.

Summary
There's a lot to talk about. None of them are fools; they all know what the events of today symbolize. It's the beginning of the end, and Grian and Etho are its harbingers. It's not something anyone will forgive or forget— especially the Mounders. Especially Martyn, the sole survivor of the red purge, furiously alone in that doghouse on the hill.
But that's for the morning, too. For now, they laugh together. Etho washes the dishes (Cleo laughs when Grian makes a joke about the Warden's name) as Grian chops carrots and potatoes. Behind them, Cleo builds furniture; she'd decided after watching Grian tend to Etho’s wounds on the floor that it was a necessity.
