Summary
Nestled deep in the forests of the Olympic Peninsula, shrouded in a persistent and unyielding fog, lies an Academy, hidden from the mortal world by a centuries-old enchantment. Young witches and warlocks gather there to learn and refine their magical skills, away from the distractions of the human realm. After inadvertently exposing his powers to a group of mortals, nineteen year old Ian is ferried away into the pines to learn to control and care for his magic. On his first day, he spots a brooding young man with dark hair and hellfire blue eyes. A necromancer, they say. An asshole, say others. Ian is intrigued, but keeps his distance, not wanting to risk getting under anyone’s skin. Then, on an innocuous but pivotal day, their paths finally cross, and their fates become suddenly and inextricably intertwined.
Or, a story about inequitable loss, the substantiality of grief, and the lengths we’ll go to for the ones we love.
