Summary
The two had meaningless conversations, mostly to fill the near silence. “I still don’t understand why we have to be on time for Clyde’s stupid party. I bet his parents haven’t even left the house yet,” Stan complained, mostly to get a rise out of Kyle.
Kyle chuckled at Stan’s comment before signaling left. Stan knew that Clyde’s house was one right turn away, and he knew that Kyle also knew that. Why would he be going in the wrong direction?
“Kyle?” Stan asked confused. Kyle turned and then put one of his hands on Stan’s shoulder.
“Don’t worry, we’ll be late this one time,” Kyle said before turning again into an unmarked road.

Summary
A few minutes pass with their kisses remaining chaste. Kyle leans back a bit and Stan’s lips chase his at the loss of contact. They chuckle at his desperation. Stan loves Kyle’s eyes. He loves his face actually. That’s all he can focus on when he can see it up close at last. He absorbs all he can process into his memory, hoping to see it in his dreams tonight. He doesn’t realize Kyle whispered something to him.
“What?” Stan questions, genuinely dumbfounded when close to Kyle. Kyle bites his lips nervously. Stan watches intently.
“I said you can touch me too,” Kyle whispers in a low tone that even Stan struggles to understand despite being inches away from him. “If you want,” Kyle finishes.
AKA: The boys finally find the chance to explore the tension that's been brewing between them. As long as they trust each other it'll be fine, right?

Summary
He might never get what he wants but he could still be there for Kyle. Yes, that was the point of this now. Not to satisfy some selfish desire of Stan’s, but to help Kyle figure himself out. He makes sure his voice is steady when he speaks again. “I want to help you, Kyle.”
For the first time, there’s a sparkle in Kyle’s eyes. Hope forms on his face, but he quickly furrows his eyebrows. “But, are you even attracted to me?”
Yes. Very. 100%. Never been hornier.
“The whole point of this is to both discover if we like boys, right?” Stan already knows, but that’s not appropriate. “Technically, we don’t know until we try, right?”
Or: Stan faces the consequences of his actions when he tries to fuck with Kyle. It feels pretty good for punishment though...

Summary
“Who’s the friend?” Kyle asks bluntly. Stan nearly chokes on the piece of pretzel in his mouth. His eyes are wide when he looks at Kyle’s face. Kyle watches him with a weird expression again. Stan chews slower to buy himself time to think. He knows exactly what Kyle means but he chooses to act dumb instead.
“What do you mean?” Stan goes for his lemonade. Kyle watches him and rolls his eyes.
“The friend you’re lusting over?” Kyle sounds annoyed that he has to explain himself to Stan.
Or: Stan jacked off to Kyle one drunken night and concluded that he's in love (and overly attracted) to his best friend. He can't say it explicitly so he does the next best thing, evade as much as possible. Kyle, however, is having none of it.
This takes place after "I'm just thinking of the right words to say (I promise you)". It's probably best to read that one first because there are references to the events that took place in it.

Kyle with his stupid pretty pink lips. Kyle with his stupid sharp laughs. Kyle with his soft eyes when he looks at Stan directly. Kyle holding Stan’s necklace, just a few inches away from Stan’s parted lips.
Kyle. Kyle. Kyle.
Or: Stan is drunk and horny and can't stop thinking about Kyle.
