Summary
Things get lost every day.
A sock bundled up and forgotten under the bed. A key that slips behind the shelving. A clever thought that gets stuck on the tip of one’s tongue.
Disregarded things. Abandoned things. Wandering things. Fragments slipping between the cracks.
Hermione Granger never expected to be one of them.

Summary
After a young Draco Malfoy is transfigured into a ferret and brutalised by a dark wizard, he disappears, presumed dead. Hogwarts and the Ministry of Magic hastily brand the death a terrible aberration, and life, and the First Wizarding War, move on.
Years after the Battle of Hogwarts, Hermione Granger is employed as the Transfiguration Professor at Hogwarts. Processing the trauma of the war, struggling to piece together a meaningful life, and trying desperately not to make mistakes, she is horrified when Crookshanks injures a scarred and feral mustelid. As she nurses the wild animal back to health, she learns more about herself, and it, than she ever could have imagined.- Language:

Summary
**NOW COMPLETE**
Draco Malfoy is joining his classmates back at Hogwarts for a Ministry-Mandated 8th year post-war. The 8th years, in the spirit of inner house unity, have been removed from their houses, and placed into a combined house and dorm with the other 8th year students forced to return. Hating his predicament, his father, and his own reflection, he is forced to confront his wrong-doings while working to figure out who he is. He enjoys the shadows he's created for himself over the past two years, and doesn't have any intentions of letting them go.
Hermione Granger never came back from the war, not really. Everyone finds out quickly that she's stuck in her head, fighting her trauma, the pain of her scars the war inflicted, and the weight of her status as "Golden Girl." Hermione is a reckless mess in the dark, and afraid of being inspected too closely in the light.
When Draco and Hermione are paired together for the 8th year practicum, no one knows what to think, other than shit is about to hit the fan. Will they help each other heal, or prolong the hurt?- Language:
