People always assumed it was Bokuto who first went chasing after Akaashi for attention. But it was actually the other way around. His very first day in Fukurōdani, Akaashi became curious about the loudmouthed second year wannabe-ace who got kicked out of practice for bad behaviour. The team’s official setter, a third year senpai, did not have the patience for him. And while Akaashi was always utterly, wholly and completely done with everything and everyone, he sometimes found that all that unnecessary vexation actually reserved in him some mild amount of tolerance for the truly exasperating things in life — of which Bokuto seemed to top the list.
So, Akaashi just thought it was kind of a shame.
He had no idea what he was getting into.
