Summary
“What happened to you guys?” James says. “Are you alright? How did you even get to London?”
“Hitchhiked,” Michelle says casually. “Didn’t go so well. Couple of fucking perverts tried to get fresh with Erin, but we dealt with them.”
“Orla bit one of them,” Erin says, and Orla beams, showing off her teeth.
(AU where James doesn’t have time to say goodbye to his friends before his mum sweeps him out of Derry and back to London.
The girls are having none of it, and hitchhike to London to get him back.)

When he thinks of home, he thinks of England. He thinks of his mother and his mates and the life he’d left behind. Or rather: he does. And then he doesn’t.
It’s not hard to pinpoint why.

“I’m not! I—“ PJ bites on it for a second, “I was just intrusively thinking about kissing you over and over. Which isn’t that weird—“
“What?!”
“It’s not that weird!” PJ defends. “I mean, out of everything you just threw out there, this is probably the least bad for you.”
Hazel covers her mouth with both hands. “What the fuck.”
“I’m sorry you’re a good kisser?” PJ says. “Fuck, I dunno!”
Hazel stays like that for a second, then removes her hands to cross them over her chest, and PJ realizes Hazel wasn’t covering her mouth, she was trying to cover her face because it had gone beat red.
(Aka, after a few weeks have past and PJ still can’t get that one kiss out of her head, she decides to just keep kissing Hazel until the problem goes away.)
