Kronii was well aware of her status in town, being referred to as the Warden. A mercenary with no morals, some called her.
Mumei, however, was a completely different story. Her warm demeanor never changed, even as she examined new and old scars running down her biceps, face, and neck. Her soft hands tended to Kronii’s wounds, thumbs rubbing softly against her cheek as she tended to some burns on Kronii’s face. Her smile remained soft the entire time, and Kronii found herself melting.
