    Jummo almost leans forward, tempted, but his Daddy’s words echo in his head. He hesitates, then asks softly, “Pa-ord, Taa?”

    His grandfather blinks, confused. “What?” he chuckles. “Blueberries for you, kid. Eat.” He drops the berry back into the bowl and pushes it towards him.

    Jummo stares at the bowl, then looks up again. “Pa-ord, pwease?”
