He sat there, cerulean eyes stormy and dark with anger. He looked menacing in the dim lights. The shadows from the rain danced on the skin of his face as he swirled the drink in his hand.
“I take it the talk with The King didn’t go that well?”
He ignored you.
“You can say he’s an asshole. I won’t tell, Promise.” You pushed on, a smirk growing on your face.
“It will do you well to watch your words around me, Miss [Name].” Erwin’s deep voice startled you as he finally broke his silence. “Despite how I feel at the moment, I am still loyal to The King.”
Your smirk slowly dwindled. It took you everything to not roll your eyes. “You’re loyal to the people. Not the King.” He glanced up at you.
“Is there a relevant difference?”
“Your heart yearns and cares for the people. However, they look towards The King as a source of hope.” You walked over to your room, stopping right before the doorframe. You looked over your shoulder.
“If their opinion of him changed, you wouldn’t hesitate to slay the King.”

You felt a hard chest against your back. A muscular, pale arm grabbed the can of pineapples. You didn't need to speculate who it was, somehow you already knew. His expensive scent filled the air around you. It was a masculine smell, but you couldn't quite put your finger on it. Warmth emanated from him, and for a second, you didn't ever want to leave this position.
However, the world never did give you want you wanted.
The tall, muscular body pulled away from you as you slowly turned around. Piercing blue eyes that you had grown to love stared back at you with a playful glint in them. His pink lips were pulled into a handsome smile.

"I have a small task for you, miss hunter. " He states suddenly, smiling tauntingly at you.
"I'm not listening until you pay me."
"Of course, of course.. who do you take me for?"
A brief silence sweeps between the both of you. You stare and wait patiently for him to state his price. Then you'll bargain for higher, that's how all your deals have always been. That's how you survive.
He catches your gaze for a moment. His fingers to his lips as if deep in thought. After a while, he hums contentedly before he replies.
"In exchange... your freedom."
At that, you frown. He chuckles at your visible confusion before he continues.
"In other words.. reject me and you die."
--------------------Being a bounty hunter isn't easy. Especially when one isn't blessed with a Vision. However, Reader never disappoints when it comes to hunting down ancient antiques or runaway fugitives. It's almost like a second nature.
After an unforeseen dealing gone wrong, she finds herself in the hands of a certain Cavalry Captain in Mondsadt who doesn't seem willing to let his prey go anytime soon. Of course, if it's without a price.
