The last thing Jason Todd recalled was him crawling to the door of a warehouse as a bomb counted down the very last minutes of his life.

Humming.
Tim is humming.
I picked his head—
Jason shrinks in on himself. It’s alarming how instinctual he becomes in a matter of seconds.
—I picked his feet—
He can feel the cold warehouse concrete on his skin like he never left.
—I woulda picked his body but it wasn’t fit to eat.
He died. He kept on dying. He kept on getting killed, over and over again, and he could feel all of it. Every single time.
“Stop it,” Jason finally gets out through gritted teeth.
Tim doesn’t respond at first, doesn't even look at him. He used to do that a lot— look away because he wanted to cry, laugh because that was all he could do. The laughing hurt, and Tim was ashamed. So he looked away.
“Tim, stop it.” Jason gets louder, and Tim almost seems to snap out of it— like he’s fighting himself. But then—
“Junior, shut the fuck up!”
That does it.
OR;
Tim gets kidnapped by the Joker, and Jason can’t bear the thought of another Robin suffering at the hands of Gotham’s worst supervillain. So, in his lowest moment, he strikes a deal in attempts to keep Tim safe.Bookmarked by princessjay

“I said do it, Archer.”
And then the world slowed down. He saw Dick’s eyes widen, heard the twang of Oliver’s bow, felt Diana’s hands tighten around his neck. A wave of relief coursed through him. It was all going to be okay. Jason hadn’t feared death in a long time, if anything, it felt like going home.
He didn’t have to deal with Dick, or Bruce’s death, or Tim’s, or any of it. The darkness was coming and Jason was all too ready to be sucked into it.
Which was what should have happened. But instead . . .
Dick’s hands moved at inhuman speed. He grabbed the front of Jason’s shirt and yanked. Jason felt the arrow nick his arm before it flew past and shattered itself against the Amazon warrior’s chest.
