Summary
There were moments when Jeongin wondered if he’d ever grown into himself at all, or if he stayed as a mirror reflecting the man who’d unknowingly shaped a majority of who he is today.
He thinks he should be resentful of it, or envious of the others who were older than him, that they got the chance to wander aimlessly before they latched onto who they were. Jeongin didn’t have that, he’s always just known that there was someone he respected and wanted to take after.
And there’s no resentment there, even if some people would be. Instead, Jeongin feels relieved that he’s taken on Chan’s image.
Where Jeongin sees their similarities as something to take pride in, Chan sees them as something to fear.

His head is down, with beads of sweat gathering on the back of his neck from the heat of the stoves. Ink black hair falls over his eyes, obscuring Sieun from seeing the entirety of his face. A second or two pass, a torturous eternity, and the man’s head tilts up. Warm lights catch a cheekbone, sharper than Sieun was expecting to see, but nonetheless familiar. Then dark brown irises, so dark they’re nearly black.
Suho.
Sieun thinks he’s going to throw up.
Standing on numb legs, he does the only thing he knows how to do in the moment. He runs.
