The light of the desk lamp caught the ridges in his face just right, leaving only a few bits draped in shadow. It glinted off the cold veneer of the shrapnel at his temple. Soft baby hairs tried to grow above and beneath it, painted into the rest of his hairline with sweat. Up close, like this, even Miller could see the brush strokes.

Summary
Escaping from the facility you're being forced to work at proves difficult when you're under the lingering effects of a drug given to its employees. You once heard a rumor that one of the substances to help your body metabolize it faster is Oxytocin.
There is one, uh... rather simple way to produce large amounts of that naturally, and the guy who came to bust you out of here wants to lend you a helping hand with that. Literally.

“Hrrngh… you’ll never get away with this,” Snake growled.
The figure stepped into the light. He placed his hands on his hips as in a failing display of confidence. “S-So! The illustrious, er, elusive S-Solid Snake. Um,” his smile faltered. “Thinks he can just snake, I mean sneak! Erm… oh right! Into my lab?”
Whatever tension was being built up died with that question. Snake sighed. “You’re not very good at roleplaying, Hal.”
Hal hung his head shamefully. “Sorry, Dave.”
