Summary
“Sit on the plank, and I’ll push you from behind.”
His friend looked suspicious. “Are you sure you aren’t just trying to catapult me into the water?”
Luca burst out laughing. “It’s a swing, ‘Berto! I learned all about in Portorosso. You sit on it, and you fly into the sky! It’s very popular with humans. Don’t you trust me?” he asked, feigning annoyance.
“Stop using those puppy eyes on me, geez,” Alberto teased. “You know I can’t resist it when you do that.”
Luca willed away his blush. “Hold on to the rope.” And Luca absolutely, resolutely did not look at the space on Alberto’s left wrist where his own heartmark was.
***
When Luca brings Alberto to their island to show him how to build a swing, he is determined to keep his feelings for his friend secret. After all, he'd been doing so for quite a while now. But he senses that the heartmark on his wrist, a visible symbol of his decidedly-not-platonic love for Alberto, might change everything. The only question is, will it be for better or for worse?

Summary
They stay that way for a long time, Catra’s face tucked into Adora’s shoulder, Adora gently cradling Catra’s head. Adora is careful not to hug Catra too hard or make her feel restrained, anticipating the moment that Catra will start to pull away — but Catra doesn’t. She hangs on so tightly it hurts, her claws digging through Adora’s jacket and into her back, latching into her like she did when she was a kitten and didn’t know how much her claws could hurt. Adora tries not to wince, tries not to move a single muscle, worried that if she does the spell will break and Catra will struggle away, appalled at having shown weakness.
But Catra doesn’t let go. And so neither does Adora.
