It's not often that Lán Sīzhuī finds himself on a solo night hunt, but his training as a junior disciple of the Lán clan has already concluded and as the ward of Hánguāng-jūn, there are times that even he finds himself readily taking care of benign strangeness affecting the wider world. A young mining village has recently sent word of a creature darting about the edge of the forest on the mountainside emitting unnerving noises, requesting a mediator to help in identifying the creature and discern ways to placate it into leaving them to their work.
