Olly is chewing at the inside of his cheek and he's trying not to let Neil in, but Neil knows him well enough to know exactly what he's doing. His palms itch with desperation and he yearns to pull Olly close and tell him it'll be okay, they'll figure this out and they'll get through it.
Except Olly doesn't remember him and how on earth can he prove himself to someone he's just now met? You knew all my secrets yesterday, Neil wants to say. You knew who I was yesterday.
"My name is Neil," Neil says finally, because what better place to start than the beginning? "We met in...we met in October."
Or, Olly gets amnesia, and Neil doesn't.
