Lisa is a rose just as it blooms in the dewy sunrise. The sun kisses her cheeks and nose as she makes her way down the cobbled paths of Monstadt, slightly overgrown with moss and wildflowers. She waves hello to the shop owners setting up their welcome signs, and they give her bright, cheerful smiles in return as if to say, “Here comes our dear Librarian, off to her little hiding place.” And they wonder if they can join her, if only to gaze at her profile, leaning over ancient texts and lullabies covered in the dusty scent of history.

Aether’s arms are shaking in desperation as he prays to every archon he knows for strength and courage, willing his sword to be strong and true as he raises it high above his head-
It arcs down, sunlight glistening off the silver and gold and steel. Right before the sword tip pierces its neck, the winged beast whips its head upside down, immediately meeting Aether’s eyes in a brilliant, emerald stare.
Flecks of gold.
Without warning, Aether’s mind goes blank.The world washes away, like it was never there in the first place.
