Summary
His whole career pretty much he’s been the one in front, the one being chased. Even when he hasn’t been number one he’s always felt like it; whoever he played, felt he was better, that if he played his game he would win. Jannik had been chasing him too— he’d always believed Jannik was good, that he could be, probably, the best in the world, but Charlie had still felt that he was better. When Jannik beat him he always felt like he could have won if he’d played better, if he’d played his best. That was the belief you had to have, to win.
It’s the belief he can’t quite find anymore.
And meanwhile, Jannik has— well. He doesn’t want to feel this stupid jealousy, but he does. In all the time he’d been imagining what it would be like, when Jannik caught him, he had never thought, not really, that he would be left behind. He’d never thought he would be alone with it. But if the only thing they can be to each other is rivals, every time Jannik wins, he loses, zero-sum.
or: the World Tour Finals, and after. It won't be easy. Carlos and Jannik have never let that stop them.

Summary
The realisation that Sebastian was, in fact, sitting next to him on their flight to the Nice airport only hit Charles right when they were about to land. If somebody would have told him that he’d be travelling to his dear brother's wedding with none other than the owner of his favourite café, he would’ve burst out laughing.
But there he was, seated in between Pierre and said café owner.
or: Charles needs a fake boyfriend for his brother's wedding. Sebastian volunteers as tribute.

Summary
“Tell Dani that you were in the neighbourhood and ask if he wants to hang out?” Tony suggests, making Jorge look at him.
“Tony, Geneva is nearly seven hours away.”
“Send him a letter, like a secret admirer?”
Jorge stares at him incredulously. “Seriously?”
Tony shrugs. “Maybe he’d have liked that, you don’t know.”
Jorge is pretty sure he knows.
For the next few moments, Tony seems deep in thought. He frowns, biting on his bottom lip, before his face up lights up with a big smile. He claps his hands and grins, clearly pleased with what he thought of.
“Grindr maybe?”

Valentino hits the save button so the file he has been working on for the past hour doesn’t get lost, forcing him to start all over again. “My ex-girlfriend invited me to her wedding.”
Marc blinks at him, all big eyes and undisrupted faith in humanity. “That’s nice of her. When’s the wedding?”
Valentino sighs heavily; nice wouldn’t really be his word of choice. “You don’t get it,” he says, wondering whether he should tell Marc why he isn’t exactly thrilled about the prospect. “I haven’t dated anyone since her, I can’t show up there alone.”
“I can go with you,” Marc offers immediately after learning about the wedding date. “I have that weekend off, so I could be your date, if you want.”

“You really like my designs?” Valentino grimaces at the mere thought. “They’re awful. I make them awful purposefully, to prove a point that those celebrities who are known for the fact that they are known would wear anything as long as its popular. You’re not supposed to like them.”
Valentino designs ugly clothes on purpose. Jorge actually likes them.
