Summary
There's something predictable about this life. The feel of his uniform as he suits up to prepare for their next mission—accompanied by the sound of Jay and Jake's bickering in the background through it all, soothing as much as it was irritating. The fact that he knows he has to be the glue to hold them all together.
What isn't predictable, however, is the weight of this mission and what he needs to do.
When the 02z are assigned to the duty of tracking down the underground villain Ace, discovering all of his weaknesses so Decelis Private Intelligence can kill him and put an end to the reign of the JOKER drug across Seoul—Sunghoon is placed in the position of being the key to discovering Ace’s true nature by appeasing the villain’s eyes and sneaking his way into his heart, bit by bit, until he gets the opportunity to stab him in the back and eliminate him.
Well, that was the plan. At least, the plan at first. But the longer Sunghoon lingers around and gets to know him, and the more Ace grows infatuated with his existence—the more Sunghoon realizes he might be completely and utterly screwed.

Jungwon snorts a laugh and Jay doesn't even get to defend himself before Sunoo adds more fuel into the already raging fire.
"Because of course the sexiest man on earth is into losers!" The model groans, head falling back onto his chair dramatically. "And of course he'll be into Jay. He's, like, the biggest loser I know! And he won't be into me because I'm not a loser!"
"Well," Jungwon shrugs and he doesn't even look apologetic. "That's really one way to put it."

Summary
Listen. Jake really did like going out with Jay and Sunghoon. He was very happy that he debuted in a group with people who were all around his age, and that he had not one but two members who were his age. He was really very lucky to have two best friends in their group that really did feel like a family.
But he also knew that Sunghoon and Jay were… special to each other in a way that neither of them ever seemed to want to address ever in the five years he had known them.
Much to his dismay and frustration.

it’s supposed to be routine by now, the same familiar script they’ve fallen into without thinking. two friends sharing a bed again, the quiet hush of a room long past midnight, half-awake warmth pressed between blankets, soft laughter breathing into the dark. jake talking about physics at 2 a.m., voice lazy with sleep and enthusiasm, sunghoon listening not because he understands, but because it’s jake, and that’s reason enough. they’ve done this before, nights blurring into memories, and it has always been nothing more than comfort. dependable, harmless, safe.

“Don’t you love the members?” Sunoo asked with a faux look of innocence.
“Of course I do,” Jay gritted his teeth.
Sunoo knew what he was doing, he knew, and Jay was letting him. If it was almost anyone else, he probably would have told them to shut up by now. But it was Sunoo, who he always had a soft spot for, so he couldn’t do much of anything except accept whatever was thrown at him.
“And it’s okay if that love for the members is different,” Sunoo told him.
Jay blinked at him a few times. Sunoo smiled warmly and patted his hand. “Maybe you should ask Sunghoon hyung why he started saying it out loud like that.”
Sunoo said it like it was obvious, like it was perfectly clear to him. And Jay hated not knowing.
