Jay Mccarol had it all. He was rich, he was famous, he was talented and even as the grey began to pepper his hair, he was handsome. He had people tell him that every single day. Sometimes he’d log onto twitter just to search his own name, read through accounts with his face as their profile pictures singing his praises. He never found what he was looking for.
Based a lot on the song Gold, Girls, Guns by Metric but also I would be lying if I didn’t say Bojack Horseman was also a big inspiration for this fic.

Dennis Reynolds can read minds. And control them too. If he wants. All that but his best friend Charlie Kelly’s, he figures the kids huffed too much glue to even have any thoughts left.
Mac Mcdonald is a hardened detective, estranged from his old highschool friends and cracking from the pressure of his new job, a string of murders that seem to have no plausible answer.
When Charlie’s mother is the next victim, Mac has no choice but to team up with his old high school friends, Charlie Kelly, that girl who became a waitress, and of course the self proclaimed golden god and his twin sister.
Dennis isn’t keen on the idea, but Charlie seems to think Macs their only hope. dennis may not be able to read Charlie mind, but he can read Macs and knows he's a hack, being eaten alive by the fact he thinks he helped imprison an innocent man. His own father no less.and dennis swears this has nothing to do with mac breaking his heart in highschool.
so what better way to dig up old skeletons then with the people you buried them with?
