Summary
In the distance, the not quite familiar spikes of a palisade wall, built up again after being burned down almost 200 years ago, emerge on the edge of Shelby‘s vision.
Even from this far away, their eyes can make out every last scratch where the bark has been ripped off the stem. Every scar the axe that felled those trees has left behind.
The shadows of the torches dance across the wood, and even the darkness of the slowly dying night does not hinder their sight at all.
The massacre still lies in the air. Especially now, on its second anniversary.
A quiet, far away voice draws Shelby‘s attention in. It sounds just like Avid‘s.
OR Shelby, Scott and Drift visit Oakhurst again after 200 years, and Shelby hears a voice she thought she would never hear again

Summary
It wasn't uncommon to encounter a lone traveller. All those who'd entered Oakhurst had been so. But that was over. There was no reason for anyone to be drawn to Oakhurst now. Perhaps the plumes of smoke had attracted the attention of a concerned samaritan. Or a scavenger, more likely. Or maybe they were just lost.

Summary
If they had an extra animatronic around, he would definitely kill the man. Not by some stupid reason like Pyro with his envy or Owen with his hate, but to guarantee that voice would continue to sing forever.
Great things should be preserved.

Scott had never expected to hear that voice again, not least so vulnerable and small. But the moment Pearl turned the corner with a short, timid man clinging to her arm, his stomach lurched in painful, hopeful recognition.
Choppy grey hair; big, scared eyes; Scott’s old cloak, wrapped around his shoulders like a hug.
It was Avid. It was undeniably Avid.
Or: Two hundred years after being freed from Oakhurst, Scott, Shelby, and Drift receive an unexpected letter from Cleo and Pearl. Apparently, Avid has risen from the dead.
