She would never forget that name. Her rite of passage. Her first act of goodness. But what were the odds? It couldn’t be a mere coincidence. The druid was broader than she remembered. But that didn’t surprise her. After all, she had barely been a hundred and he was perhaps fifty years her senior when they had met.
Hazel eyes met her own shadowed purple, and time ceased to move. He looked…stricken. Ah but she shouldn’t have expected anything but. The spark of hurt was ruthlessly smothered. Of course he would be horrified to see her.
After all, she had once held his leash.

Summary
She froze at the mention of Moonrise. It was their first solid lead since the nautiloid crashed, but the news filled Tav with dread. She knew all too well the evil that besieged that land. Without thinking, she stepped close to Halsin, leaning in so only he could hear her. She reached up and grabbed his arm, trying to keep her balance.
“You’re sure that’s where we need to go?” she asked quietly, in Elvish. “That is no easy task.”
His expression softened and he gave her a knowing look in response.“You know of this place?” He lowered his voice to match hers, as smooth as his voice was before, it was nothing compared to hearing him speak their native tongue.
“Unfortunately, yes. I would not go back there unless I had no other choice.” Tav’s hand was starting to shake slightly against his arm, but he placed his other hand over hers to steady it. His hands were lightly calloused but warm and comforting. She felt the blushing feeling returning to her face.
“It will be dangerous, but it can be done. And perhaps, we can see the light there again.” he whispered back. His voice was hopeful, but his face was a mask of pain.

Summary
This fic is a spin off AU of the Gale/Tavi fic “Carrying Your Love With Me” in which Gale and Tavi slept together once after the final battle and then Gale left without notice, accidentally having gotten her pregnant. In the original fic that is still ongoing Tavi and Gale meet again later and are in the process of working things out and continuing their relationship, building trust. In that same fic Halsin has feelings for Tavi but they are unrequited, and Tavi is in love with Gale.
This fic however takes place during and after chapters 5 and 6 of CYLWM, but changes the outcome of Gale and Tavi’s reunion and conversation to have Gale double down on his duty to protect her when he finds out she is pregnant; leaving her alone once again.
She leans on Halsin who she has been avoiding her feelings for, and discovers her heart isn’t as broken as she thought. Can Halsin truly love her and a child that isn’t his?

Some things will be spoiled for CYLWM in this story, and some things may be spoiled for this story because of that story. So, just keep that in mind if you're reading both of them. Certain details will be the same in both, others will change.

Summary
SPOILERS ACT 3 BG3.
Partialism, the incomplete sublimation of a host's mind, was a story told to frighten young mind flayers. It was a myth unknown to the illithid that languished in a secret prison deep below Baldur's Gate, and yet it was its reality, too, a fractured consciousness that refused to perish in silence warring with an evolution that precluded its survival. The once-hero mind flayer's self-imposed sentence was a logical resolution to the problem, even if a former self might have considered it an unhappy one.
Angst through conversation and a touch of existentialism. First chapter is a standalone angst one-shot, later chapters are an optional continuation with a happier ending.

The bear inched back, even against the corner as he already was, before lowering himself further to her when he seemed to realize he couldn’t give her more space. It made her pause. Then a jolt shot up from her leg and Chosen dropped, both hands around her leg with a faint blue glow. Warring with herself to resist healing. Turning to the bear, she noticed as it grew interested, drawing its head back up and inching one hesitant paw closer to the bars separating them.

I can never do a fully evil Durge playthrough simply and solely bc this pixelated man makes me melt every single time.
Death and battle came easy; they seemed deeply ingrained in Tav’s skill set. Her ability to plan for and focus on the imminent and likely threats was uncanny. She craved the raw stimulus of obliterating a target, which came in handy now that she and her new companions needed to save Baldurs Gate. Starting with an Arch Druid.
What came much less easily to Tav was being able to look in the fellow druid’s direction without melting like an ice arrow in a campfire.Series
