Summary
Nancy can't stop watching Robin: the way she talks, laughs, fidgets, loves. But, more and more, how sad she was too. Nancy’s not sure why she cares so damn much about finally understanding this girl —or about seeing her happy— but she’s accepted the goal all the same. And Nancy was nothing if not goal-oriented.
Robin knows she shouldn’t think this way. That she should “count her blessings”, and “love herself”, and rah-rah-rah. I mean, yes, so much of her life is beautiful, and she knows that! But Hawkins, for all its eldritch horrors, has a way of making her feel like she’s the one that people would call a monster. And after all this time… well, words begin to stick.
—
AKA: Robin deals with being gay in the 80s, and Nancy learns that being a hero means more than just killing monsters.
Featuring: curious eyes, a loss of hope, surprising allies, an Indianapolis gay club, summer heat waves (in more ways than one), a rewritten season five, and the origin story of a life-changing love.

Summary
"I want to find Bigfoot," Nancy said.
"I thought you didn't believe in Bigfoot?" Robin asked.
"I'm trying to become more open-minded," Nancy said.
Robin raised her eyebrows.
"I'm bored," Nancy admitted.
"There it is," Robin drawled, a smile taking over her face. "So when do we leave?"

Summary
Finally, she’s able to get the number in right. The ring is sharp against her ear. Pick the fuck up, she thinks, and someone must be listening, because the ringing stops.
“All right, Harrington, what’s on this week’s nightmare menu? And don’t tell me the one about drowning in your pool again, man, we all know that’s rich kid—”
“It’s Nancy.”
A long pause, then a laugh. “Wheeler? To what do I owe this late-night honor?”
“I, um.” Nancy’s tongue feels stuck to the inside of her mouth, like bare skin on upholstery. “I was wondering if you’ve got a couch I can crash on?”
Nancy finds herself in Olympia, Washington on the eve of the Riot Grrrl movement.

Summary
"what’s the matter, wheeler?" robin asked, stepping a pace closer until her shadow completely covered nancy. "sudden trouble with your speech? you always have so much to say about safety procedures and proper ammunition storage."
nancy swallowed hard, trying to regain even a shred of her dignity, but her body betrayed her. her chest heaved violently, and a bead of sweat rolled slowly down her sternum, straight under the lace of her slip. she felt dazed, overwhelmed by a feeling too loud to ignore.

Summary
"Which one of us is bait?"
They were too late. Just a few seconds too slow. And if Robin had just climbed the cliff better, been a few seconds faster, a fraction more coordinated, then she wouldn’t be covered in Nancy’s blood right now. Nancy, who was bleeding, but not, absolutely not, dying.-When Nancy is 'saved' by the military after sacrificing herself as bait, the team bands together one last time to bring her home.
