But when she was late she couldn't make a stop to get her regular morning coffee and muffins. Yes, muffins. She could never decide on just one flavor. She could never resist a pastry with chocolate in it, but some days she wanted a banana walnut or a blueberry too, and of course she couldn't miss out on the seasonal pumpkin; she'd occasionally splurge on the apple cinnamon—with "Real apples, Ben!" She wasn't shy about eating more than one either. It endeared Ben and made him love her all the more.

“So, I’ve died how many times?” She asked, still letting the information wash over her.
“Thirty? Forty? Maybe fifty. I’ve lost count.” He shrugged. “I’ve died maybe twenty-five times. All of them with you.”
She looked at him with wide eyes again. “And how many times have we had this conversation?”
“About the same amount of times that you’ve died,” he replied.
“And did I believe you each time?”
He paused, considering her words. He looked very patient for a man who had had the same conversation so many times before. “The only time it was hard to convince you was the first time it happened.”
“Well,” she said as she stood. “Let’s not waste any time. Today feels like a good day not to die.”A Cop/Time loop AU. Detective Kylo Ren is stuck in the same day over and over again in which the same event ends each day: his partner Rey always dies before midnight, no matter what he does. Can he finally save her and solve the horrendous crime that connects all of the events? Update: Fic is now complete, with an alternate ending as Chapter 21.
