Yuuji stares at Megumi for a moment and then at the sky. He pushes his tongue out to wet his lips as he scrapes the corners of the mess of thoughts riddled in his brain to string together something coherent enough to speak out to Megumi. Something that doesn't sound so horrible and self-pitying that it'll earn a punch to his gut, but still honest enough to entertain Megumi's request.

“People make mistakes, dude.” Yuuji huffs sinking into his chair. Megumi slaps his hand over his face to muffle his laughter and Yuuji looks at him with wide eyes and knitted brows, bewildered.
“You- this-” Yuuji sighs, closing his eyes and letting his head fall limp as he winces, “Top ten anime betrayals.”

Summary
“Let’s get going,” Megumi says, and when Yuuji stumbles next to him, he snakes an arm around his shoulder. It’s warm, and it takes everything in Yuuji to hold himself upright instead of sinking into it. It’s stupid how it takes him back to when everything was good and fine; Megumi has always been warm, just like this, when they’d rub shoulders during breakfast or when he’d sling a leg over Yuuji’s lap during a movie or when he’d rest his head on Yuuji’s shoulder on the train ride home.
Or: Megumi is the answer and Yuuji wants to tell him before he doesn't have the chance to anymore.

Summary
Neither of them dared to rupture the careful silence by turning on the radio. Besides, all channels were speaking of the same thing ; Vers’ mass extinction. By now the rumor had caught fire and changed into a blast as the news relayed what they already knew ; less than a year after Heaven’s Fall, Versian population was now reduced to less than two hundred people. The imperial family was now extinct and out of the 37 Counts, only five made it to Earth.
Saazbaum and Cruhteo weren’t a part of those five, not officially. They were presumed dead.
In the back of the car, Lemrina, Slaine and Asseylum kept on sleeping. They already looked in better shape than they did one day ago when they had found them nearly lifeless.
They had to keep going. Running away and away, both metaphorically and literally from Vers.

Perhaps because he had that special, one eyed, ridiculous man by his side, even if he wanted to strangle him out of annoyance.
