“That’s why you,” Rock says as he stuffs a wadded-up apron into his hand, “are going to help out here so I can nurture him,” Rock points outside the window to the most pathetic looking man Dragon Boy has ever seen, “into becoming the new E-Soul.”
Dragon Boy stares at the guy. Looks down at the pink apron in his hand before he, very slowly, drags his eyes back up to meet Rock’s.
“Old man,” he says, “have you finally gone fucking senile?”
(Rock’s put Dragon Boy through a lot of shit these past few years, but making him work in customer service has got to top the list for the worst thing he’s ever done.)
