    These are MXTX's early works from when she was still a student. They were published in 2013-2014 in a magazine called “Super Nice”《超好看》. She wrote a total of five short stories, each around a few thousand words. All bearing elements of drama, horror, death, and complex character relationships that you can find later in her novels. These short stories are not particularly well-known and have never been translated before.
    Someone compiled these shorts together in a book on JJWXC, and we've decided to translate them together.

    At seven years old Wei Ying is sure of two things. One day he will die and see his parents again, and the only person in the entire world that can be trusted is himself. At least, he thinks he knows these things to be true. The facts start to get fuzzy between the dogs chasing him, to the men in white and red shielding him from both the dogs and the blistering cold rain.

    The facts get even more fuzzy when Xie Lian, the man in white, offers him a once in a lifetime opportunity. The opportunity to be the disciple of a rogue cultivator, just like his mother.

    At seven years old Wei Ying is sure he's in this life alone. As he grows, he learns that he is wrong.
