Day 4: "He ran his thumb against the faded tape, the shaky script declaring the title: Greetings From Backstage. He wanted to ask if that was E-ki’s handwriting, but he was afraid that the answer would be no."

Takumi could never have made this decision without Karua. Without her advice, her comfort, he would’ve been trapped in his head forever, unable to choose. It’s hard to imagine he managed the first hundred days without her, even--and maybe that’s why they went so badly; maybe he needs her on a fundamental level. Without Karua’s support, without the certainty that comes from protecting her, he’s adrift. He’s nothing.

(Takumi can't accept that Karua isn't real. So he decides she is. Nozomi and Eito suffer the fallout.)

Admittely, Takumi is curious. “...is that so…?”
“You still repulse me. But it’s quite the news, after all…”
“Well, what are you going to do now?” Takumi asks.
Eito fixes his glasses and scans the area. “I suppose we should look for shelter for the night.”
“We?!"

There’s blood splattered across his cheeks. When he smiles, bright and familiar, it drips into the creases of his dimples. He’s fantasized about kissing those dimples before.
Yoshiki turns away from the mutilated corpses at his feet, and vomits all over the road.
