Summary
Following the death of her grandmother and the bones' guidance, Iris moves their home to a large plot of land near Hawkins, Indiana -- intending to start a new life "under the radar," regardless of the ghosts that are haunting her, the abilities that put her above all others, and the darkness that is slowly consuming her. Unfortunately for Iris, with how small Hawkins is and how nosy the residents are, she does not stay hidden for long.
Before she knows it, she becomes the newest member of the Cheer Team, a valuable asset to the Marching Band, and a secret member of the freak-show Hellfire Club. But as the summer fades and the cold nights begin, Iris can feel a change happening underneath Hawkins -- the stench of Death Magic growing and the ghosts around her fluttering with fear.
Armed with knowledge of Magic and an unknown amount of Magical Power, Iris vows to protect the town that holds the people she loves from the Magically-Crafted creatures grumbling under the surface, the Spider Creature forcing its way out of Hell, and the Death Witch that is calling the shots behind the scene.
