The ship is passing between two suns and the heat becomes too much for Silver. He sends Jim with his hat and jacket to his room, but Jim is feeling another heat entirely from the jacket's smell. One that his young body can't deny.
(According to the movie and Disney character wiki, Jim is 17 while in space. I'm writing him as that age, though there is no mention of his age in the story.)

Summary
Jim just wants to get closer. He wants to get as close to Silver as he possibly can. He certainly doesn’t want to walk away from him now, not after what just passed between them— not after the way Silver held him, and he suddenly felt safe, and happy, and loved. He can hardly bear the thought of being separated from him after that, even for just a few hours.
On a desperate impulse, he jerks his chin towards the below decks, beckoning.
“Come with me.”

Rick was a mystery. Morty just couldn’t wrap his head around what his grandfather was thinking at any point in time. He knew the guy didn’t mean to hurt his feelings, but he just didn’t know what questions would arouse his irritation. Morty felt like he had to walk on glass to keep Rick from being annoyed with him. And the last thing Morty wanted was for Rick to be annoyed with him.

Summary
In a panel, Justin Roiland said that Beth "fetishizes the extraordinary" and said something else to the effect that Beth wants Morty to be extraordinary like her father, and values it above anything else. This, coupled with wives commonly responding with tolerance and forgiveness when they find out their spouses molested their child, made me think Beth might not actually throw Rick out if she were to discover them.
So here's a fic about all the fucked up shit that implies, undercutting an otherwise fairly senseless story about Rick and Morty's relationship.
