Summary
Akechi doesn't give two shits about the Phantom Thieves. As far as he's concerned, the entire lot of them are worthless cowards, not to mention imbeciles. Why should it matter to him either way if they come to their senses? It's Kurusu's damn crusade to get his little coterie of fools with him, and it's his damn funeral if and when they fail him at the end of the week.
This is a matter of happenstance, just as well as it is of run-of-the-mill curiosity. Convenience, at most.
Still, though. It is a beautiful painting.Bookmarked by rihannaemail

Summary
It seems like she’s always ending up in these situations. Ann's done everyone’s makeup so many times that she may as well open up her own boutique. She doesn’t even think she’s particularly good at makeup, and yet she keeps ending up here, about to paint the face of a pretty girl and ignore whatever odd feeling it is that sparks in her chest.

Summary
Makoto allows herself to be bundled up on the couch, Ann plopping right beside her. She leans over, putting her head on Makoto’s shoulder. “The ocean, huh? Lotta weird stuff down there.”
“It’s soothing.” She reaches out, squeezing Ann’s hand. “You’re going to get sick.”
“Nuh-uh.” Ann blows a raspberry. “It’s my special kickass girlfriend powers.”
“If you say so,” Makoto replies wryly, sighing despite the smile creeping up, “But don’t complain to me when you get a cold.”

Summary
Ann was smiling, looking a little sheepish. The dim light from the streetlamps gave her face a sepia tint, and Makoto was spellbound. “I kind of needed some help, so I thought that this place would be a nice start. I mean, there are years and years of stories here, aren’t there?”
Through friendships and memories old and new, Ann and Makoto begin a story that's uniquely theirs. The beginning may be unsure, but the ending is clear, and the in-between where they come to know each other has a shine all its own.
(A prequel to "The Next Time Around", but can be read by itself.)
