Summary
- Momijikawa always sits with his back to the kitchen and takes a look over Sakura’s shoulder from time to time. He also glances in that direction when he cooks, turning his head just to stare at this empty space in the living room that, as Sakura now knows, used to be filled by Momijikawa’s grandmother’s hospital bed. The bed must have been disposed off but no other piece of furniture took its place. The signs of his grandmother’s illness have been partially erased; Sakura, at times, still finds some labels that Momijikawa has yet to peel off the drawers.
“You know,” Momijikawa says when he’s done staring at the past, his eyes back on Sakura instead, “you don’t have to keep me company every evening.”
“I just don’t have anyone to eat with.”Or: Sakura decides to have dinner with Momijikawa every evening.
