Summary
TK Strand catches eyes with Carlos Reyes in a restaurant – only to witness him endure a perplexingly terrible blind date. When TK realizes he needs to step in and help, the night takes a much brighter turn, and maybe a recently-heartbroken TK can see the future within it.
It’s a strange thought to have – that the pain was worth it because it led him here. That it’s all going to be okay. Being here tonight with this guy Carlos, who he met under humorous circumstances and had sex with immediately and is now about to enjoy his food – it’s a good thing. A good thing that would not be happening without a very bad thing. So much of life rolls on like that, one thing leading to another, and on and on, and it always will, until the sun becomes a supernova and maybe another planet will form out of the wreckage of that. A new planet with new creatures with new problems. But so long as they can fall in love, they’ll be alright.

Summary
Jonah leans into Carlos’s side when he sits down next to him.
“Am I really coming to live with you?” he asks quietly.
“Yeah, buddy,” he says, hoping his tone is reassuring. He runs a hand through Jonah’s hair, brushing his bangs back from his face. “We’ve got your room all set up with books and toys. Your dad told us all your favorite foods. We even got you a tub of moose tracks ice cream.”
Jonah perks up at that, looking up at Carlos with imploring eyes while he sticks his tongue out a bit and starts panting like a dog. “Moose tracks?”
“Oh,” he teases. “Is that your favorite?”
Jonah scrunches his face, eyes crinkling at the corners just like TK’s do when he smiles, and he nods enthusiastically. “Yesssss!”

TK and Carlos go to Switzerland to pick up Jonah. On the way home, Carlos reflects on the night he brought another Morgan boy home to this loft to begin a new life, and all the wonderful and terrifying ways their family is about to change.

Summary
“Oh my god, baby,” TK murmurs as he wraps his arms around Carlos. He lets out a breath, briefly allowing his eyes to close despite the constant beeping reminding him of where they are. “I thought I’d never see you—”
“I know, TK,” Carlos cuts him off softly as a hand cradles the back of his head, so gentle and tender, a better reminder of who he’s with. “But we’re here.”
“We’re here,” TK manages to echo.
