Twin pools of bottomless black met the wolf’s red gaze — fearless, steady, unblinking. There should have been fear. The wolf’s eyes were level with his. This was no natural beast.
This was the skin‑changing wolf of the Senju forest. This was Tobirama Senju.The wolf stepped closer. He sniffed at Izuna’s neck — a gesture intimate enough to break lesser men. Izuna did not flinch. He held the wolf’s gaze.
A scent that struck Tobirama like a blow. This man smelled like a mate. His mate.
Tobirama recoiled, dread twisting through him. He turned away, shaken to his core.
His age to choose a soulmate had come years ago, yet he had found none. Now he understood why the forest had smelled barren, why every path had felt wrong.
His mate had been roaming the open lands. Outside the forest. Outside the clan.
And he was an Uchiha.
Tobirama’s heart sank like a stone into cold water.

There it is again, that stupid nickname. Jon would refer to every damn thing in that overtly affectionate, callously unprofessional term. Jon was becoming more like his mother as time went on, calling everyone “honey”.
“I can take care of myself, or did your inter-dimensional travel interfere with your memory?”
Damian hoisted himself onto the horse, ignoring how horribly good Jon looked leaning against his rusted farm motorcycle.
“Good to know you’re still a brat.”
“Tt.”
Or, the one where Jon and Damian drifted apart ever since he came back from the Legion. Four years later, they’re forced to reunite when Damian is sent away to spend the summer over at the Kent’s family farm.

Summary
When Tobirama was younger, he realized at some point that a white wedding kimono and a white shroud were surprisingly similar not only in color, but also in cut. It seemed to him then that it was stupid and strange to put the creation of a new family on a par with the end of life. Years later, he came to realize that these two things, in fact, are not very different.
