But nothing is worse than seeing Seungmin’s cautious gaze reaching out to say the right thing.
There is no right thing. The time can only remain unchanged sometimes. Minho swallows down an apology that flows silently through him until his fingertips are numb from pressing them hard against the edge of the table. “The work,” he reasons, to hide how he is still stuck months ago, to not show how he couldn’t put the past to bed. To not to say, I can’t cook when you aren’t here, instead it is, “The work is taking everything from me. I’m just so tired.”
