He doesn’t turn on the lights. The full moon through the windows casts just enough glow to remember what this place used to be. There’s a piano in the corner. Out of tune. Forgotten. He sits anyway.
His fingers hover, then press—slow, unsure, not searching for melody but memory. Regret hums louder than the notes.
He doesn’t expect anyone to follow him.
