NOTE:
This is a small section from a larger work I have been working on for more then a decade more for myself as a form of free flow therapy. I don't know if I want to share the larger piece that this is from as I'm always tweaking it and adding as things come to mind, but I'm exceptionally proud of this part and felt moved to share it in the hopes that others who struggle with anxiety or panic will find comfort.

They must both deal with some restrictions on sex as Ilya recovers, but they take every opportunity to find possible outlets as he improves.
The extended recovery period impacts Ilya's mental health, and he has to face his own worth without hockey.

Ilya’s hand wraps around his bare wrist and squeezes. Shane barely stops himself from collapsing to his knees.
The pressure lights up every receptor of his touch-starved nervous system, wrenching a small, pained noise from the back of his throat. Every muted sensation comes flooding back so intensely that it almost hurts. He needs Ilya to hold him down until there’s nothing inside him but quiet. He wants to sink into him and disappear.
It takes Shane an entire beat to remember where they are. Fighting against the fog in his mind, he manages to drag his gaze up to meet Ilya’s.
There’s a slow-dawning horror and understanding on Ilya’s face.

"So was that the whole collection now, or...?"
After two shirts and a hoodie, Patrick can't help but feel a bit eager to wrap it up. He loves playing supermodel with Pete, and is more than willing to sit and watch Pete try on clothes whenever he wants him to, but the promise of what always comes after a modeling session is making him antsy.
With a giggle, Pete places his hands on top of Patrick's to stop his tugging. "Easy, Trick, I have one more thing to show you. Sit back down on the bed for me." He gives him a peck on the lips as some form of consolation before he makes his way back to the closet. He calls back over his shoulder, "It'll be quick!"
