She was glad she came from a small clan. She was glad she got to live out her life as she pleased in her 20s with minimal surveillance. She was grateful for every minute of every day spent as someone unimportant, someone unworthy of notice.
Someone who could go unaccounted for hours — enjoying the wind in her hair, a drive with too many stops, and an arm slung around her shoulders — without critique.
Nothing she’d done was ever good enough for the man at her side. She wasn’t pretty enough, talented enough, strong enough, subservient enough. His dislike of her was apparent to everyone, and yet here he was, sitting next to her in his family estate, going over last minute details of their wedding in the days to come. He squeezed her thigh in the same place, not as a warning this time but as a punishment. In some fucked up parallel way, he liked to poke her buttons, see her upset.
After all, Utahime knew just as everyone else did that the only reason Naoya was marrying her was because he wanted what Gojo had.
OR
Utahime is engaged to Naoya. Problem is, she's still in love with her ex, who doesn't seem to give a rat's ass that she's marrying someone else in two weeks.

“I’m going to check your scent real quick, okay?” The man was already peeling back one of the patches.
Mathias scrunched his nose as his own sour scent leaked out. He wore scent blockers all the time per regulation, only taking them off to put on a fresh set. His own scent was foreign and revolting to him. He couldn't imagine how it smelled to complete strangers.
The man’s mouth flattened into a thin line, and he looked back up at the woman as he smoothed the blocker back into place. “Omega.”
“Jesus,” the woman breathed.
The man stroked Mathias’s neck a few more times. There was something sad in his expression.
“I’m not an omega,” Mathias said hoarsely, finally able to pull away. “They don’t exist. That’s just an excuse for you to oppress half your population.”
