Kanade has an inkling she'll probably die young like her mother, but she doesn’t mind. She just needs enough time to fulfill her cursed promise with Mafuyu and compose that song that is capable of saving her. Unfortunately, fate decided it would be hilarious to inflict her with the Hanahaki Disease, leaving her on the verge of death much earlier than even she anticipated. Of course, she hid the fact from everyone and chose to face death all alone.

A few months later, with a comatose Kanade destined to never wake up, Mafuyu is left to pick up the broken pieces. With Ena and Mizuki, they follow her supposed savior's trail to solve the mystery behind her inevitable demise and hopefully find a way to salvage her life... even if they have to fall down the rabbit hole.
