“I thought you were staying with Eddie,” she says. He looks soggy. There’s really no other way to describe it. “Why do you need to live in my apartment?”
“I was,” he says, and she expects him to elaborate on what’s changed, but he doesn’t. It’s not the first time she’s wondered what’s going on there, but she always felt it was none of her business. It isn’t her business. Which is why half of said business should not be standing in her kitchen right now, looking like a gigantic lost puppy.Buck needs a place to live. Athena has a room.

She had been keenly aware of how Tristan and Max barely touched each other that night, and when they did, they tried to play it off as accidental. There had been a curiosity there, but not one that either of them had felt free enough to satisfy. At that moment, Avery didn't think twice about it–she would never make them do anything they didn’t want to do–but the past few weeks have made her wonder if the only thing keeping them from crossing that line was their own unnecessary inhibitions.
Well, it’s not really wondering, actually. She’s quite convinced.Or: Avery can’t shake the feeling that Max and Tristan haven’t been fully honest about what’s actually keeping the three of them from being in a relationship. Thankfully, she’s kindly willing to help them work through those feelings.

Ah. That.Shortly after moving back to LA, Buck finds out Eddie used to be a ballroom dancer. He makes Eddie teach him, of course.
(or, finding out Eddie was a ballroom champion was absolutely revolutionary to me personally and I had to write a fic about it)

Summary
Less than a week in this house, and Buck has already decided that most of the things that happened in it are best kept quiet from its original tenant. Things that will probably be really funny in the future, when the world has stopped feeling like it’s been turned upside down. Things like ‘I didn’t want to unpack for days because it would be confirmation that you’re really gone’ and ‘I slept at my sister’s house for several nights because, once again, I didn’t want to believe you actually left’ and ‘said sister and my ex asked if I’m in love with you, for some reason?’ and ‘oh, by the way, I had sex with that ex in your bedroom and that was the first night I could actually get some sleep here, whatever that means’.
Or: Buck deals with a series of secrets and phone calls, while living in a house that likes to remind him that his best friend is gone every chance it gets.

Lister leaned back against the door, cool against his feverishly hot skin, and closed his eyes. “I don't know,” he groaned. “I don't know what this is, I don't know what we're doing, I just know that I love you like I’ve always loved you, but now there’s–this.” He gestured vaguely. Jimmy tried to smile at him, but it didn’t reach his eyes. “And also, you're hot.”
(Basically, my take on early stages Bicci. Loosely inspired by Charli xcx’s Talk talk and a few of Alice Oseman’s Tumblr posts where they mentioned that Bicci’s relationship would probably be very messy at the start (and potentially would continue to be messy until the end). They really, genuinely love each other, guys! They're just also a mess.)

Summary
“I thought you were ready to start dating,” Bobby says, which. Eddie doesn’t think that’s remotely close to the point.
“Yeah, Eddie,” Buck echoes, all narrowed eyes and petulance, aggressively attempting to spear a tomato on his plate while maintaining eye contact.
“I…I don’t think the blind dates were really working out.”
“So you’re trying to get out of your aunt’s setups, again. And this is what you’re going with?” Hen says, eyebrows raised.
“I did not say that. I hadn’t even thought about telling Pepa I’m seeing Felisa, to be honest.” But isn’t that a thought. “I just thought a break would be nice, you know? I can find someone at my own pace, organically.”
A chorus of protests and objections, to the tune of “how are you going to meet someone organically when everybody thinks you’re dating someone else”, breaks out across the table.
“Oh, he’s gonna find someone organically, alright,” Chimney interrupts. “Obviously, he’s gonna fall in love with Felisa.”
Buck promptly begins to choke on his salad.
Or: Eddie pretends to date Felisa Valdez, a normal thing to do, for normal reasons. Buck acts normal about it.
