Summary
Mickey Milkovich disappeared from Chicago the day after his father caught him and his boyfriend together. Ian has given up hope. He doesn’t have the time anymore. When Mickey’s fortunes change for the better and he returns, he finds a resentful Ian struggling to support his younger siblings, his mentally ill older brother, and his eight-month-old son. Ian wants nothing to do with Mickey even if he didn’t have the weight of the world on his shoulders, but all he can see is Mickey’s face whenever he looks at his son. Will Ian let Mickey back into his heart? And how will Mickey prove he’s in it for the long haul when he still can’t even admit how he feels?

Summary
It took a lot of work, but Ian finally feels like he found himself again. Maybe he can find something else too. At least, he hopes…A rewrite of Season 6, how it should have gone, at least IMO. Starts after Ian visits Mickey in prison. Ian can’t feel anything, we all know why he was really on that bridge…fill-in from the car accident on Ian’s thoughts and taking a sharp left from there…. and dismissing the Caleb plot all together (no one likes that douchebag anyways…right?)

Mickey has a pretty good life. He’s working as a public defender, trying to do better for people in the same boat he was once in. However, when he gets assigned a murder case and sees that the prosecutor is the one person he really can’t stand but still can’t stop thinking about, the grown-up version of that redheaded boy he once had such a soft spot for, his comfortable life might just be flipped on its head.

Summary
“Yeah,” Mickey asks, just as slow, as quiet. “What did you lie about?”
It could be anything. Something private, something old. He turns his head to watch the breath that fans over Ian’s lips. Sees him sitting there, like a statue, marbled and cold. And he wonders, just fleetingly, just for a moment, a slither of one—if even—whether or not Ian understands how pretty he is.
Or, mandy’s wedding introduces mickey to the guy he’s sure will ruin his life

Summary
It’s been 8 years, and to say those have been challenging for both Ian and Mickey is a gross understatement. Ian stayed true to his word, though. He’s worked on getting his life together, he’s been on a steady medication regimen, and he’s been seeing both a psychiatrist and a therapist. He also hasn’t had any romantic entanglements beyond sporadic one-night hookups since the last day he saw Mickey in prison. He knew his promise to wait that day had sounded lukewarm at best, but Mickey knew how he felt, right? Even behind the flat affect and lack of emotion in his voice?
When Mickey reappears in the South Side, Ian’s just as in love with him as he’s ever been and can’t wait to pick up where they left off, only this time, it’s going to be better…until he sees the undeniable proof that Mickey has moved on during the years they’ve been separated. Mickey’s done too much work to move past the heartache of how things ended between them when he went to prison. Ian’s done too much work to prove he can take care of himself and be what Mickey needs so they can finally make a relationship work this time. And true love conquers all…right???
