When they decided that the Vocal Unit would do Lalali this year, Soonyoung had laughed. He remembers it now, foolishly, as he watches Jihoon decked out in that stupid adidas tracksuit, hair slicked back, and one shoulder exposed as he raps about being rich and successful.
He thought it’d be fun. It is fun, seeing his friends perform a song that doesn’t really fit them all that much, but- Soonyoung can’t entirely focus on that aspect of the show as his eyes zero in on his boyfriend.

It’s just that. Well. Minghao’s fingers are really long. Soonyoung’s probably always been unconsciously aware of this, but it hits him harder now, washing over him in the late hour. Minghao begins painting and Soonyoung watches intently, mesmerized by the smooth roll of his wrist, the distinct line of his tendon flexing.
When he finishes his pinky, Soonyoung sighs out loud.

Soonyoung wishes things were different. He wishes he met Chan on the street when everything was normal. Maybe they’d run into each other, and Soonyoung would probably still think he’s an angel, because Chan is pretty like that. He must’ve been even prettier with regular access to a shower. Soonyoung would stumble over his words— but he was never short on confidence— and he’d ask Chan to get coffee, or dinner, and everything would be good.
