Summary
“I just don’t see why I have to get married at all,” Stanley muttered. His father laughed from the other side of the table, and he scowled in return.
“Because you can’t rule alone, son.”
“Who says?” Stanley tilted his chin up indignantly and huffed. They didn’t provide an answer, and he was beginning to feel as if he had the upper hand, when:
“There is no choice in the matter. You’ll be married within the week.” -

Summary
Just go out, have fun! They said. We all coincidentally have to do work, but there’s this frat party you should go to, and we don’t have any ulterior motive whatsoever.
The losers weren’t exactly subtle - they all thought Stan was too uptight from exam stress, and that if they went along to a party with him, he’d only hide behind them the entire night. They gave him lots of cash for a taxi at the end of the night, a portable charger so they could always check up on him, and a slap on the back accompanied by a get some, Stanny!
That was looking to be very unlikely.

“I n-need you.” Bill says. “Date m-me.”
Stan can’t believe it. Finally.
“Yeah. Yes. Please.”
He’s picked up on his signals, the touches, the small gestures. He goes to reach out for Bill, his friend, someone he’s loved since he could define the term.
“I want t-to make B-B-Bev jealous.”
His yearning for Bill’s touch falters, his heart pounds. Beverly. Her. Not me.
