Remus didn't drink. It wasn't as if his moral compass was so high as to steer him away from drinking, because it wasn't exactly, no he enjoyed the other various activities his friends did, drinking just wasn't one he fancied.
But it was the weekend before Valentine's day, all his homework had been completed and he couldn't stand watching Sirius flirt with Marlene for another minute while sober.

Summary
It's lovely up here; all meadows dotted with wildflowers, wind-beaten tracks criss-crossing this way and that through the fields, weaving inland to the pinewoods. The sun's hot on his back as he passes ramshackle stone walls, long since crumbled to piles of ancient rubble and scree, and then the path winds downwards, still following the line of the coast until Sirius finds himself outside an old white cottage, tucked away behind the hill with a rose garden that faces out to the sea.
Sirius moves to Cornwall for the summer and meets a rude, beautiful boy who is writing a book that may or may not be about dragons.

“All I know is I want—” Remus shuts his mouth in a panic. Gulps. Dry mouth. Palpitations. Sweaty palms.
Sirius tilts his head. “What? What do you want?” Gray eyes. Collarbones. Body heat.
“Nothing,” Remus' eyes shift to Sirius’ lips and then quickly back to smoky eyes, “it doesn’t matter.”
