"Thank you." The blond-haired man smiled warmly and extended his hand. "My name is Yagi. Yagi Toshinori."
Aizawa stared at the man's hand briefly, before shaking it. Large and roughened by callouses from hard won battles, the rogue could only assume. If the warrior was as experienced as he described himself, perhaps he could complete the contract with less trouble. The faster they were finished, the faster they could be on their own merry way.

A Dungeons & Dragons/Dungeon Meshi-inspired take on the BNHA Fantasy AU. Aizawa is a weary rogue who finds himself with an unlikely companion when he takes up his latest contract by a guild elder trying to rid a group of bandits occupying one of the neighbouring dungeons. Though having long given up trying to adventure with a party, Aizawa begrudgingly lets the strange warrior, Yagi Toshinori, follow along. Can the two of them survive this adventure? This mysterious warrior doesn't seem to be who he says he is.

Summary

After wandering through endless darkness, his first coherent moment throws him into a gladiator-style tournament facing a monstrous demon. Thrust into an afterlife training facility—essentially supernatural law enforcement for the deceased—Shouta discovers he's among recruits who all shared powerful connections to the underworld during life. Despite his instructor Yagi being strictly off-limits, Shouta can't help the electric pull between them as they investigate the mysterious circumstances of his death and memory loss.
What Shouta doesn't know is that Yagi Toshinori harbors a dangerous secret known only to his benefactor Nezu: he's actually an elder demon disguised as a human ghost, his powers and true form bound by an injury he sustained years ago.
