“Uh, I appreciate the gesture but…” Leo continued to stare blankly over Casey’s head and behind the vigilante. The human just raised a brow and whipped his head around to look behind him only to find nothing but the banner hanging over head.
“Oh, that…” Casey hunched his shoulders up to his reddening ears and sheepishly grinned, rubbing the back of his neck. “Oops, my bad”
“Uh, yeah, ‘yer bad’. Ya think ya would’a checked it before” Raph shot back, glaring at the human.
“It was an honest mistake!”
“That’s the same thing yo mama said when she-!”
“Dudes!”
“Ey! Don’t you talk about my momma!”
“Mama’s Boy!”
“Mommy issues!”
“Ohh! He got you there, Raphie!”
“Mikey, you don’t have a mom either”

Summary
Donnie approached the squirming black figure on the ground in trepidation. He cautiously reached his staff outwards, keeping his distance from the creature as he poked it with the end of his stick. The hiss it let out startled the terrapin as he stumbled backwards and used his bō to stay upright. Donnie stayed at a distance before trying again, his curiosity getting the best of him. The creature hissed again but this time Donnie wasn’t phased. He might even consider it an endearing sound. It was a defense mechanism, clearly. But the creature seemed hurt, it hadn’t recovered from Donnie’s hit. Guilt pooled at the pit of his stomach.
A sharp gasp caught in his throat at the sight of the wounded creature. Its wing was limp and lying at an awkward angle, probably broken. Did Donnie do that? The guilty pit at the bottom of his stomach churned with shame. Donnie crouched down and crawled closer slowly, hands out to placate the creature. It was small and shrouded in shadows. Donnie’s eyes widened in surprise as he adjusted his head light to shine on the shadowy figure. A bat? What was a bat doing down here? In these parts of the sewers?
