Summary
If Saitama doesn't want to be a hero, then just helping people is something he can do. (Despite the '100' a day regiment of his that should've killed him, he knows that). With those monsters appearing, that could be something he can unleash his strength on. (That, and seeing if he's still normal at the end of the day.)
What he wasn't counting on is that he's attracting the attentions of someone who became a hero, old friends, invitations to a hero association, and unfounded attention from the public.
