Summary
Shouyou’s too high from the thrill of victory to realize how many shots Kageyama’s taken.
This is his first mistake.
His second, which he does not realize at the time, is taking Atsumu up on the twerk contest at the club. That, he later understands, is the inciting incident.
Inciting what? A drunk and disorderly Kageyama Tobio, loudly professing his love for one Hinata Shouyou, in the middle of the night, while he staggers and stumbles on a Sendai sidewalk.
Let’s take it back a few hours.

Summary
Kageyama was already feeling quite sleepy after their nightly activities, both his brain and his body feeling exhausted. He looked at the phone screen to check the time, before placing it by his ear again.
“It’s late.”
“Yeah, we should sleep,” Hinata mumbled. “See you tomorrow, boyfriend?” Tobio simply hummed in agreement. He was about to hang up then, but before he could, his partner spoke again. “Oh, wait, I forgot to ask you… Do you wanna stay over at my house this Friday?”
Suddenly, he didn’t feel as sleepy anymore.
“Stay over?”
“Yeah, my family is going to visit my aunt for the weekend, but I told them that I had practice on Saturday so I couldn’t go.”
“We don’t have practice this Saturday, coach Ukai said…”
“I know, Kageyama,” the spiker cut him off. “That’s, um, kind of the point.”
The setter blinked a few times, a heavy blush taking over his cheeks as his heartbeat increased.
Was he implying what he thought he was implying?
... Hinata wanted to have sex.

It all started completely unconsciously, the first times happening by mere accident, a desperate attempt to seek warmth so they could endure the chilly nights. The moment they woke up their bodies were already tangled together, comfortably resting in each other’s arms
It was almost a year later when things escalated even further, the unfortunate combination of the proximity and their half-asleep brains making them share a type of intimacy that best friends normally didn't share. The next time it happened, though, they were the only ones to blame for the choices they made.
And then, they began to help each other out whenever they felt the need to, getting closer and closer together each time, but never fully becoming one. Truth was, the more they did it, the more they needed it again.
And yet the more they did it… The more it didn’t feel like enough.
