Summary
It’s been 32 years since the war between the Machine and Samaritan ended.
The world moved on, but Shaw never really did.
Only the Machine remains, speaking in Root’s voice.
It was a comfort at first—sort of.
But as the years dragged on, and Shaw uncovered the truth—
that Root plotted her own death to ensure they’d win the war—it stopped being a comfort.
Bear is gone. Then Fusco. Then Finch—age claimed them one by one.
Now there’s no one left.
No mission. No purpose.
Just the hollow rhythm of a reality she no longer trusts.
Then, on her birthday, alone in a world built on memory and ghosts,
Shaw decided, enough is enough.

Summary
Canon and post-canon fix-it. Shaw is left reeling after Root's death and it's all she can do just to make sense of it. Even after Samaritan is gone, she struggles to find a purpose. That is, until The Machine, now trying to find its own way, discovers something in the echoes of its predecessor's actions. Something that could change everything for Shaw.
