    This is actually a continuation of SomeEnchantedEve's beautiful story "this house no longer feels like home" which explores the premise of Ned taking the black instead of being executed. It is the first piece of fanfiction I ever found, and along with joely_jo's "Of Dragons, Roses, and a Second-Hand Match" is responsible for my taking up this little hobby. Upon rereading Eve's story recently, I had a burning desire to see where it went next, and she graciously gave me permission to do so. So this is for her.
